Made with fruit from Washington's Horse Heaven Hills, this Syrah opens with tart pomegranate and strawberry aromas, along with burst of lemon peel and damp cedar bark. Modest acidity and plush tannins back a rich, sweet dark chocolate-covered strawberry flavor.

As I reflect on numerous vintages of Syrah that I have made over the years, this must be one of the most layered and complex Syrahs that I have been able to produce. The concentration and depth of flavor showing through in this vintage is astounding and I think that this wine will only continue to pick up momentum as it ages. A beautifully rounded wine with soft plum, butter, and Vanilla. Syrah tends to pick up more black pepper notes in cool climate growing regions as well. This wine is delicately balanced, not only in terms of acidity, but also shows wonderful complexity with contrast of aromatics and flavors encompassing fruity, floral, gamey and earthy tones.
