HB Rusted Bell - Frontenac Gris 2019

This crisp wine makes a refreshing Spring/Summer sipper. As one of the most unique grapes and fruit-forward varietals in our lineup, this Frontenac Gris wine is bursting with tropical fruit flavors. A bold nose begins the experience with layered notes of strawberry, grapefruit, and pineapple. As a cool climate grape, this amber-colored wine exhibits a good amount of acidity, which is balanced nicely with a touch of natural residual sugar. The long finish is clean and refreshing. It is the perfect hot weather wine and a great beer alternative. Life pairing – Sitting on a dock with your feet in the water!

Winemaker's Notes

• Frontenac Gris is a pink-berried mutation of Frontenac, the cold-hardy hybrid variety bred at the University of Minnesota's horticultural research center. The University describes the variety as "the white wine version of Frontenac … yielding gray fruit and amber-colored juice" • Has strong disease-resistance and is very cold-hardy – essential for surviving the cold, harsh winters experienced in the northern United States • At its best when bottled with enough residual sugar to maintain a balance between alcohol, acidity and sweetness
