2026 Critics Challenge International Wine Competition
Bursting with a vibrant, tropical nose, this Albariño opens with aromas of white flowers, honeysuckle, and fresh sea spray. The palate is bright and lively, showcasing notes of lime, apricot, starfruit, and lemon zest, all carried by a crisp, mouthwatering acidity. As it lingers, the texture softens into a subtle creaminess, balanced by a refreshing saline minerality that evokes the coast. Clean, expressive, and endlessly sippable—this wine is a perfect match for oysters, shellfish, tinned fish, olives and fresh white fish.

The 2025 growing season in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA delivered an exceptional canvas for a crisp, high-acid variety like Albariño. While total crop yields across Washington State were naturally lighter, this reduction resulted in remarkable flavor concentration. The intense summer heat allowed the Albariño to fully develop its signature tropical and stone fruit profiles, while the relentless winds blowing off the Columbia River cooled the vines dramatically at night. This extreme diurnal temperature shift successfully locked in the grape's electric, bracing acidity. By keeping this wine entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 7 months, the vibrant, pure expression of the fruit and its distinct desert terroir are preserved.
On the palate, it boasts a surprisingly textured, clean mid-palate that flows effortlessly into a crisp, lingering, and mouth-watering finish.
